New EV Road Tax: The Truth Motorhomers Need to Hear

We’ve been seeing more and more talk about “pay per mile” road tax, so we thought it was time to sit down and look at what it could actually mean for those of us with motorhomes, campervans and tow cars.

In this video we chat through what a pay-per-mile system is, why the government is even talking about changing how we pay for the roads, and how it might affect people who use their vans for holidays rather than daily commuting. We look at things like: would heavier vehicles be charged more, what about older vans, and could this end up costing tourers more – or actually less – depending on how you use your motorhome.

We’re not here to rant or scare anyone, just to put everything in one place in plain English so you can understand what’s being discussed and start thinking ahead. We also touch on electric vehicles, future road funding, and what all of this could mean if you’re considering changing your motorhome in the next few years.

As always, we’d love to know what you think. How many miles do you do in your motorhome each year, and would a pay-per-mile charge change the way you travel? Let us know in the comments and let’s have a sensible chat about it.
