We spent a full day in Weston-super-Mare to finally answer the question: is it a charming British seaside classic… or just a muddy disappointment?

Armed with real 5-star and 1-star reviews, we walked the beach, visited the Grand Pier, dodged seagulls, ate fish and chips, checked out the donkeys, and saw what’s really going on behind the town’s love-it-or-hate-it reputation.

Some people say it’s nostalgic and brilliant. Others call it one of Britain’s worst seaside towns. We wanted to see for ourselves.
